When you think of advertising for butchers, do you think of ‘hip’ and ‘funny’? Not really, right? Well, Bell, the swiss butcher chain will proove you otherwise: Last august, Bell released a quite humorous iPhone app which lets you grill a swiss veal bratwurst on the go. Blow into the microphone to get the fire going, then hear it sizzle and see it brown.
Now Bell just released yet another humorous app which allows you to virtually spice up your summer party with popular swiss figures. The iPhone app lets you film scenes from you BBQ and add the two Bell-Commentators making it look like they are actually there in person. The barbecue master (actor Dominik Gysin) and his mate (comedian Beat Schlatter) comment on the user’s party in their usual style (“He’d have been done over if he’d dressed like that in the 80s” or “Don’t you have any cool friends?!”). The phrases are intended to give users a leg up, leaving plenty of room for their own creativity. The more the party-goers get involved in the films and react to the figures, the more entertaining the films gets (“You sure? He’s the laziest bloke in your mob?”). Once finished the barbecue films can be stored on an iPhone and uploaded directly to a YouTube channel.
